Tonight Obama set a new tone for the creation of jobs. This sudden awakening and more influential tone seem to set a new precedent of what will be in store in the next 14 months. After basically admitting his failure to create the necessary jobs for a recovery, tonight he seemed to finally realize that that creation rest mostly on small business and their hiring.
He proposed payroll cuts and a tax holiday for new hires but as a small business owner I will believe it when I see it. We need a Federal payroll tax cut alright but we need a year or more of tax amnesty for employers with businesses under 50 million in sales. That would be an ideal solution to put cash back in the coffers for business owners. A $1500 tax cut for families just doesn’t cut it and a full reform and a flat tax would be appropriate. In my opinion this is too little too late unless he actually enacts the real tax reform he mentions. We’ll see what he says tomorrow in the Richmond Presidential speech on the 9th.
